It is important for the world to know I struggled with obesity until I was 26 years old. As a co-founder of this non-profit I want to share my personal story of growth and allow those around me to understand I am not just talking about knowing the difficulties of reclaiming your health, I myself have walked through the fire. I have lost over 125lbs in my lifetime. In the process of learning healthier lifestyle options and shedding weight, I also shed my type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I am honored to post Obesity Awareness IN Action (OAA) was recently selected to be a Part of The Prestigious Marquis Who's Who, 2024 edition. OAA was nominated by a fellow business and selected based upon our dedication to educate as many people in Health and Wellness with the purpose of saving as Many Lives as Possible, our Free unique Awareness Bound Youth Health and Wellness Educational Programming which focuses on the 8 Dimensions of Wellness, and our annual Walk N'Roll walks creating an environment for all persons to focus on how movement can be fun and easy. Movement starts with a single step.

Candace is honored to travel to Mumbai, India to receive this amazing award. Providing educational health and wellness in-person classes to our underprivileged youth in order to create equal learning opportunities is a passion of OAA. Proper education can change future situations and has the potential to save generational lives. Obesity Awareness IN Action is determined to socially change the world.

In Late November 2022, Scheels ran a giving campaign. Although OAA did not win the original $5,000 donation award, OAA was in the top 50 of 800 voted on Organizations! Scheels donated a "runner-up" donation of $500!

Our inaugural walk was June 3, 2022 in Loveland, Co and had 122 attendees! A.B Consulting and Media created a fantastic video. Click the teal flyer to see this video
Held in Waukee, Iowa August 20th, 2022, we had fantastic vendors, a fire truck for the children and our attendees endured freezing rain and a cool temperatures to support our cause of helping others.

June 9th, 2023 was our 2nd annual Loveland, CO Walk N'Roll. We had fantastic sponsors, one of the best photagraphers in Northern Colorado, and a great turn out even though it had some iffy weather! LOL! Click or touch the picture to see the video.
Go Iowa! We increased attendance by 63%. In-kind donations totaled $4,360 with over $2,100 in financial donations. We walked 276,236 steps which totaled 115.1 miles.
